NY Highlights!

So New York is over and London has already began. There was so many highlights for me, so I decided to show you my absolute favourites, which was really difficult as I loved so much!!!

J.CREW

Womenswear Designer Tom Mora, has the difficult task of creating something new each season for the established J.Crew brand. This season we see another spin on preppy sportswear, this time mixed with Moroccan inspired patterns and sharp tailoring. The mix of texture, jewels and brocade resembled something you might see on a Marrakech market stall. Once again bowled over by J.Crew's ability to add a little spark to simple boyish silhouettes.

THE ROW

For their fourth Fall Show, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen wanted a space with a little more Character, hence they decided on a Upper East Side Apartment. Each look was layered first with a cream high neck onesie. Obviously this was a little more chic than the ones we have seen on the high street! This formed a uniform approach as each model was sent down the catwalk. Lots of black and muted tones of ivory and dark green were used on oversized tailoring and knitwear took place along side satin evening gowns. The easiness of the collection was a resemblance of past seasons collections, but with a little more glamour. Gorgeous!

VICTORIA BECKHAM

Victoria Beckham chose the New York Library as her location for her fifth anniversary collection. Coats were the first thing to hit the catwalk and oh boy were they good. Checks finished with electric blue pony skin were bang on trend and oh so chic. Knitwear made it's first appearance in the form of turtleneck sweaters in yellow and blue. Black tailoring finished of the statement VB look to perfection, while the mix of colour and texture opened a new avenue for the evolving Beckham brand.

MARC BY MARC JACOBS

70s Chic was the theme echoing down the sophisticated Marc By Marc Jacobs catwalk this Fall. Eclecticlly patterned Jumpsuits and brightly coloured tailoring was simple, but chic. MxM was as fun as always and the hair and make-up added even more to the magical effect we are so used to seeing.

3.1 PHILLIP LIM

Bikers and their Girlfriends would have loved Lim's collection this season. There was Leather, in every type of garment; Dresses, Boots, Sweatshirts and even Vests. All finished of with some incredible Outwear in the form of patchwork sheepskin coats with contrasting lapels and leather trims. The Styling of layers of texture and fabrics somehow made a rough subject chic. Perfection.
